INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

How can we cooperate?

Foundation Haven in Nature is a space to create and deepen relationships with nature, ourselves, children and other adults.

Our mission is to promote outdoor education, create environmental awareness and support individuals in building bonds with family and in nature.

We are the governing body of the Non-public Forest Kindergarten “Dziupla” established in 2018 and Forest Primary School in Kielce opened in 2021.Our school and kindergarten operate in an alternative education system:

  • emphasis on outdoor education - children spend the majority of time outdoors whatever the weather (around 80% for the kindergarten and around 60% for the school),
  • mentorship - the teacher is the mentor that guides the education process,
  • project-based learning - children engage in long-term, interdisciplinary initiatives in mixed-age groups,
  • alternative grading system - we focus on self-assessment and individual evaluation,
  • friendly school space close to nature - the school space is organized to support the creativity and agency of the pupils,
  • community management - the pupils are involved in the decision process regarding their education and the school space,
  • building community - we build community around the school, kindergarten and the foundation that involves families of our pupils and supporters of our activities

Alone we innovate, together we transform.

Does your institution would like to develop projects in the the field of outdoor/forest/nature-based education, via Erasmus+ program?

We can bring experience and creativity to your initiative!

We are open to:

  • Small-scale Partnerships (KA210-SCH),
  • Cooperation Partnerships (KA220-SCH),
  • Mobility of pupils (KA121/122-SCH)
  • Mobility of teachers, ex. job shadowing (KA121/122-SCH)

As an organization blazing the trail in the field of outdoor and nature-based education in Poland, we are strongly interested in cooperation with other organizations and institutions in Europe and beyond working in this area.

Our international experience thus far…

In 2025 we hosted our first mobility of pupils. Five students aged 10-12 and three teachers from the Spanish school Cra Cuna del Jiloca in the rural region of Teruel have joined our school for a week.

The pupils joined our school kids while the teachers observed our daily routine in a forest school. There were trips to the forest for language and science classes, folklore and music workshops, visiting the centre of regional culture and a city game in the centre of Kielce.

The Spanish pupils spend their time with the Polish hosting families playing chess, badminton and karate, visiting museums and entertainment centers.

We have also hosted international volunteers visiting our city for the European Solidarity Corps project who spent creative time in the forest with our pupils.

Our staff takes part in the international conferences on alternative and outdoor education, such as The Third International Scientific Conference – Alternative Education and many others.
